ABOUT ME
Suzanne is a mental health educator, advocate, consultant and inspirational speaker. She writes and speaks from lived experience on many subjects including women’s issues, mental health, and living with a mental illness. She speaks to the public and professionals alike.
Her speaking engagements have included high school and college psychology, nursing and social work students. Various workshops for teachers on their professional development and speaks to medical interns on how best to support their patients with mental health challenges.
Suzanne has worked on various boards, did a piece for C.B.C. radio, writes two blogs on mental health (read more under "Other Adventures")
Suzanne believes that by creating a safe place to have open and respectful dialogue, we can come to better understand, and in turn support each other. She was the recipient of the 2018 Coast Mental Health Courage to Come Back award. Her award and speech can be seen in the video below.
